The Fillmore

Silver Spring, Maryland

BFMV Set List:  No Way Out, Skin, Betrayal, 4 Words, Battle, Last Fight, Jason Solo, Raising Hell, Scream, Venom, Poison, Alone, Worthless, Hands of Blood, Tears, Demon

Matt Tuck and the boys in BFMV tore down the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland with their solid delivery of non-stop riffage and killer guitar shred!

The current touring version of BFMV is down to 2 original members due in part to drummer Moose being on paternity leave with his wife.

I arrived in time to catch part of Asking Alexandria’s set and…yawn….they had a decent crowd reactions….yawn….but….yawn….bored me to tears with a set that relied heavily on backing tracks and lighting than it did on actual musicianship.

Bullet For My Valentine plays a style of metal that is part old school, part new school and their fan base is clearly a metal crowd.  “Ace of Spades” by Motorhead was the intro music on this night.

Padge holds down all lead guitar duties and his overall guitar tone on this night was simply superb.

New bassist Jamie Mathias adds fresh energy to the bands onstage performance and the weirdest moment of the night for me was having a flashback to seeing BFMV on their very first US tour opening for Rob Zombie at the 9:30 Club.

Having witnessed the growth of BFMV throughout the years they clearly defined their craft, figured out who they are, and earned their fanbase through strong live performances.

This was the biggest show BFMV has ever offered their fans on a headlining run and it’s no wonder this show was sold out; BFMV were amazing and proved that rock is NOT dead!
